Component Families（MEP）
Basically, the ob family created by Obayashi Corporation is used for component families. If a familiy is
not in the ob family, the manufacturer family or the family created for each project is used. This page
shows the naming conventions for the ob family.
Family Naming Convention
Describes the naming conventions for the ob family project-specific families.Type Name Example

The ob family uses the category abbreviation as a prefix. List of category abbreviationsMechanical Equipment Family
The family name of a mechanical equipment family is category abbreviation + control number + sign +
equipment abbreviation + version control number. The control number + sign part follows the naming
convention of the Revit User Group (RUG).
This does not apply to families nested within mechanical equipment families.

Lighting fixtures family
The family name of the lighting fixture family is the category abbreviation + fixture number +
fixture type + mounting position + specification + model number + manufacturer name.

- Family name ：LightX_SP1_スポットライト_据置取付型_防⾬型_NNY24143_LE9_Panasonic.rfa
- Category abbreviation ：LightX
- Fixture number ：SP1
- Fixture type ：スポットライト/Spotlight
- Mounting position：据置取付型/ Floor-mounted installation type
- Specification：防⾬型/Rainproof type
- Model number ：NNY24143_LE9
- Manufacturer name：Panasonic
Outlet family (Electrical Fixtures Category)
The family name of the outlet family is the category abbreviation + control number + outlet
type + mounting position + power supply voltage.
Example）
- Family name ：ElecX_003_一般コンセント_壁埋込_3Φ200V.rfa
- Category abbreviation：ElecX
- Control number ：003
- Outlet type：一般コンセント/General outlet
- Mounting position：壁埋込/Wall-mounted
- Power supply voltage：3Φ200V
The type name of the outlet family is voltage + pole + current +
number of ports + ground.
Example）
- Type name ：125V 2P 15A×2 E・ET付
- Voltage：125V
- Pole：2P
- Current：15A
- Number of ports ：2
- Ground：E・ET付/With E and ET
